These terms apply when you buy from The Garage Door Opener Co website. They’re written to be read. Nothing in them limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Last updated 6 November 2026. The Garage Door Opener Co is operated by NGRO, ABN 96 169 385 479 (“we”, “us”).
1. Prices and payment
- All prices are in Australian dollars and include GST.
- Shipping on remotes is free. Any shipping charge for other products is shown at checkout before you pay.
- We take payment by card through Stripe, and through PayPal. Payment is taken when you place your order.
- If a product is listed at an obviously wrong price because of an error, we’ll contact you before sending it. You can choose to pay the correct price or cancel for a full refund.
2. Your order
- When you place an order we email you a confirmation, which is also your tax invoice.
- Our stock levels update automatically, but very occasionally an item sells out at the same moment you order it. If we can’t supply an item, we’ll tell you straight away and refund you in full for that item.
- We may decline or cancel an order we reasonably believe is fraudulent. If we do, we refund any payment in full.
3. Compatibility
Each product page lists the opener models we’ve confirmed it works with. Where we believe a remote works but haven’t confirmed it, we say so and ask you to check with us before buying. If we list a remote as compatible with your opener model and it isn’t, you’re entitled to a remedy under our returns and warranty policy and the Australian Consumer Law, and we cover the return postage.
4. Delivery
- We deliver to Australian addresses only. Despatch and delivery times are on our shipping page. They’re estimates, not guarantees.
- Your order becomes your responsibility once it’s delivered to the address you gave us. If it’s lost or damaged in transit before that, contact us and we’ll replace or refund it.
- Please check your address carefully. If an order is returned to us because the address was wrong, we can resend it once you confirm the correct address.
5. Returns, refunds and warranty
See our returns and warranty page. In short: 30 days for change of mind on unused items, and remedies for faulty items as the Australian Consumer Law requires.
6. Australian Consumer Law
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
7. Liability
Apart from the rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law and other laws that can’t be excluded, we’re not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from the use of our products. Where the law allows us to limit our liability for goods not of a kind ordinarily acquired for personal, domestic or household use, our liability is limited to replacing or repairing the goods, or refunding their price.
8. Brand names
Manufacturer and brand names on this website are trade marks of their owners. We use them only to describe which openers our products work with. Unless a product is labelled “Genuine”, it is not made or endorsed by the opener’s manufacturer.
9. Privacy
How we handle your personal information is set out in our privacy policy.
10. General
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales. We may update them from time to time; the version on this page when you place your order applies to that order.
